"Let there be light". Does this include Ekehuan Campus, UNIBEN?

Students going to fetch water

It is no news that students in Nigeria Universities are faced with one challenge or the other.  But,  questions have been asked on whether things are getting better or worse.  This is because with the way things are going in Nigeria universities,  one can categorically say that the light is dimming gradually.

Students  on Ekehuan campus, University of Benin have been complaining to the University authority that hostels, library, and lecture theatre had been without electricity and water for days.

The issue of water has made students go a long distance just to get water to bathe and prepare something for themselves to eat. Also,  the issue of light has made students rent generator just to power their devices.

According to a student who preferred anonymity, "I am tired of everything right now. There is no light and water to do anything not even eat. The question now is will our lecturers put this situation into consideration as they give us work to do? No!"
Another students complained " it's two days now without light and water. This is just frustrating every students here as those with their homes close now go there to bathe, eat, wash and power their devices.  As for someone like me whose parents are in Lagos State,  I have to bear.  It is either I rely on God to let it rain or I travel a long distance to fetch water.

"Last month when we had a protest,  the Public Relations Officer of the University, Micheal Osasuyi said that the current light situation was a national one but they were doing their best possible to ensure that electricity is being fixed. It is worthy to note that there was light that very day on campus. But as we speak today,  there has been no light for days."
