“Instead of talking and assuring your people you are alive and well, you are busily releasing series of photos like Tyson Beckford, I don’t understand what he is trying to put across” he added.
Mugabe continued that, if Buhari continues to be silent, then it’s obvious that he has died and someone is deliberately releasing his old pictures which were not public.

Boko Haram attacks Borno again, scores feared killed

Attackers believed to be Boko Haram members have killed unknown number of people and injured several others in an ambush on motorists in Borno state on Saturday, January 28.

Vanguard reports that the ambush occurred along Maiduguri-Damboa-Biu road between old Nigerian Telecommunications (NITEL) mast called Dogon Wire and deserted Bullabulin village.

The report quotes a driver Mallam Aliyu Yau as claiming that he managed to escape with some of his passengers but several others were not so lucky.

He said: “Most of the passengers killed and injured were not by Boko Haram sect, but by military escorts who opened fire on fleeing passengers into the bush, mistaking them as escaping terrorists.

“It is unfortunate that our road is not safe today (Saturday morning) as some Boko Haram terrorists laid ambush on the road. It is regrettable that during the ambush and exchange of gunfire between military escorts and the terrorists, many passengers took to their heels into the bush, and most of them fell victim in the cross fire..

I cannot ascertain the number of those killed as I managed to escape with my passengers. But I learnt that scores of people were killed or injured.”

Arsene Wenger: Arsenal boss gets four-match touchline ban

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been given a four-match touchline ban and £25,000 fine after accepting a Football Association charge of misconduct for his behaviour in the win over Burnley.

Wenger, 67, was charged with verbally abusing and pushing fourth official Anthony Taylor after being sent off.
His ban starts immediately so he misses Saturday's FA Cup game at Southampton.
If that tie needs a replay, Wenger will return for the Premier League game against Hull on 11 February.
However, if the match is settled on Saturday, the Hull game will be the fourth and final one for which the Frenchman is banned, following Premier League games against Watford and Chelsea.
Wenger reacted angrily to Burnley being awarded a 93rd-minute penalty at Emirates Stadium on Sunday, one they scored to level at 1-1.
After being sent to the stands by referee Jon Moss, Wenger moved away from the pitch but stood at the tunnel entrance and refused to move as he tried to watch the remaining few minutes of Sunday's match.
As Taylor encouraged him to move away, Wenger was seen to push back against him.
Arsenal were then given a penalty of their own, which was converted by Alexis Sanchez.
Immediately after the match, Wenger apologised, saying: "I should have shut up - I apologise for not having done that.
"It was nothing malicious. I should have kept my control, even if it was in a hectic time."

NLC Challenges Buhari: Address Nigerians If You Are Alive

The Nigeria Labour Congress has challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to come out and address the nation so as to dispel rumour about his death. Since the President left the county for London, rumours have spread of the his ill-health and reported death. The presidency through his media aides debunked the reports confirming he is hale and hearty.
According to PUNCH, Dr. Peter Ozo-Eson, the General Secretary of NLC urged the president to put the rumour of his death to rest by addressing the country.
He said: “In the social media, stories circulate without confirmation; I think that the easiest way is to talk publicly to the nation because the citizens are concerned about their leaders’ whereabouts.
‘If there are those who orchestrated rumours and they are not true, the easiest way is for him to reach out to Nigerians through a public appearance and a statement.
“Nigerians have a right to be certain about the health situation of their President and the people who orchestrate rumours and unsubstantiated reports, one would wish for him to call their bluff by publicly addressing the citizens.”
The Trade Union Congress (TUC) however said since Buhari has duly handed over to the vice-president, it was unnecessary to be talking about his state of health except he fails to return at the stipulated time.
Mr. Bala Kaigama who is the president of the TUC said there was no need to make noise about it as the president would come back.
“Why do we have to make noise about this? He is coming back; if he were to go and stay for a very long time, it is a different thing. If we have patience, he will come back. We are just being unnecessarily demanding.
“This is somebody who demanded a rest and he has handed over the government to the Vice-President. So our concern is how the VP is handling it; but it his health that has become the issue of the moment.
“But we should allow the old man to have his rest. It is normal for somebody of that age to need rest from time to time. If he goes to rest that does not mean that government will not work now. Let the old man enjoy his rest.
“If he does not come back on the day he is supposed to come, that is when can talk, but for now, let’s allow him to have his rest, why does he have to come and address us? It doesn’t make any sense.”

History is made as black lady will appear on new US currency

Starting in April, a commemorative $100 24-karat gold coin depicting Lady Liberty as a black woman wearing a crown of stars will be minted

The $100 24-karat gold coin was design to commemorate the 225th anniversary of the U.S. Mint
- The coin is portraying Lady Liberty as a woman of color on U.S. currency for the first time
- The coin will be meant for collectors

To commemorate the 225th anniversary of the U.S. Mint, the Treasury Department is making history: by portraying Lady Liberty as a woman of color on U.S. currency for the first time.

Starting in April, a commemorative $100 24-karat gold coin depicting Lady Liberty as a black woman wearing a crown of stars will be minted. Though the coin will be meant for collectors, it'll mark the first time that Lady Liberty, a historical symbol of freedom, will be portrayed as nonwhite.

"The 2017 American Liberty 225th Anniversary Gold Coin is the first in a series of 24-karat gold coins that will feature designs which depict an allegorical Liberty in a variety of contemporary forms-including designs representing Asian-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, and Indian-Americans among others-to reflect the cultural and ethnic diversity of the United States," reads a press release from the Mint.

In recent months the Treasury Department has made greater efforts to issue new currency notes and coins that better represent Americans of all backgrounds and acknowledge the groundbreaking achievements of leaders in the civil rights and women's suffrage movements. There is only one coin in circulation that features a person of color. It's the Sacagawea dollar. The Sacagawea dollar is also one of two coins in circulation that features a woman (the Susan B. Anthony dollar was retired in 2000, though obviously it's still accepted as payment).

2019: Obasanjo backs Igbo Presidency

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has backed the South-East to produce the country’s next president.

Obasanjo, who did not mention the time for such opportunity, explained his submission was his personal view and added that, the “problem of justice and marginalisation have been major source of conflicts between ethnic and regional divisions in the country.”

The former president made this known when the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ogun State chapter, organised a special New Year service at his Hilltop residence in Abeokuta.

Obasanjo disclosed that it was part of his resolve for a just and fair country that made him to work for the emergence of a South-South president in 2009.

“But, irrespective of the thinking of the people ahead of 2019, I personally think that South-East should have a go at the Presidency, too.”

Back home, with regards to Ogun State, he, however, noted that, in the interest of justice and fairness, Ogun West senatorial district should be given the slot to produce the next governor of the state.

His words: “The same is happening here. If Ijebu and Egba have produced the governor, it is only fair and just to allow the Yewa or Ogun West to also produce governor. Or else, one day, they will also stand up and take up arms against this injustice against them. That is my personally position on this.”

On crisis in Southern Kaduna, Obasanjo cautioned Nigerians against commenting on what they do not really have detailed reports of. “This is largely responsible for the escalation of the situation.

“My findings so far show that everyone is talking from the position of strength. People are not talking from knowledge of what they know and this is not helping. We must be able to dump all our sentiments to overcome the challenges.

“Just like other cases of injustice around us, we need peace; it is only peace with justice that can solve all these crises. Genuine peace is what everyone is craving for and this can only come when there is justice,” he said.

The state chairman of CAN, Bishop Tunde-Akin Akinsanya, described Obasanjo as a special gift to Nigeria and the entire world considering his exploits and fatherly role.

He commended the former president for facilitating the building of the Ecumenical Centre, Abuja and added that his administration is also working on similar project in the state.

Shocker!!! Read what Apostle Suleman said will happen if the DSS arrest him

Drama has just unfolded in Ado Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State where Apostle Johnson Suleman, the general overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries was being held hostage in his hotel by operatives of the Nigerian secret police, the State Security Services, SSS, also known as DSS.
Apostle Suleman, a vocal critic of the Muhammadu Buhari’s regime’s handling of the
Fulani herdsmen militia killings in the country, was holding a two-day crusade in Ado Ekiti, when news began to spread that the DSS planned to pick him up at the crusade ground.
The firebrand pastor has been preaching against Islamising Nigeria and asked members of his church in Auchi, Edo State to resist the killings by suspected Fulani herdsmen, who have been killing Christians in Central Nigeria and parts of southern regions of the Christian.
When the cleric returned to his room at Midas Hotel on Iworoko Road after ministering at the event which was attended by the governor, men of the DSS arrived in three Hilux vans and laid siege on the hotel with the intent of leaving with the prominent Christian cleric.
“I came to Ado Ekiti for a crusade. But I had a premonition that I was being trailed after I
that Christians should retaliate any attack or killings by the Fulani herdsmen,” Suleman said.
“These Fulani herdsmen had turned many Christians to orphans and widowers but the time has come to protect ourselves.
“I received several calls from hidden numbers trying to locate where I am and I had warned my security not to allow any Fulani man to come nearer me.
“So when the men of DSS came in the middle of the night I knew their mission and I had to call the Governor because if they arrest me, they will put this country in fire,” he told journalists at about 2am.
He explained that the operatives of the DSS were trying to break into the room where he was staying. But when a crowd of worshippers began to assemble at the hotel, they ceased the operation.
The governor, “stormed Midas Hotel to rescue Apostle Johnson Suleman who was to be arrested by the DSS for speaking against Fulani herdsmen killing in Nigeria”, Lere Olayinka, a media aide to Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, wrote on Facebook.
“Armed men of the DSS came in three Hilux vans and were laying siege on the hotel before the governor stormed the hotel,” he continued.
“Governor Fayose drove himself to the hotel and moved the man of God to the Government House.”
Fayose arrived at the hotel at about 1am on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 and left with the cleric.
“It was the crowd that scared them,” the apostle explained to a journalist at the Government House.
“But the truth I want to pass out, if anything… If I spend a day with the security operatives, I have churches in 42 countries and I have alerted them,” Apostle Suleman threatened.
“Every Nigerian embassy in those countries will be in trouble.
“If I spend one day with security operatives, the damage that will happen to Nigeria will take one year to repair.
“If I spend one day. In this country, I have over half a million people and there are reactions already.
“If I spend one day with security operatives, the damage that will happen to Nigeria will take one year to repair.

BREAKING: Fayose Storms Hotel Rescues Apostle Suleman From DSS Siege

Report reaching our us  says Apostle Johnson Suleiman of Omega Fire Ministries World wide has been penciled down for arrest by Nigeria's secret police, the Department of State Security (DSS) for preaching against the atrocities of Fulani herdsmen.
The firebrand pastor narrowly escaped arrest in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital in the early hours of today by men of the DSS after a crusade but for the timely intervention of the Ekiti State Governor, Mr Peter Ayodele Fayose.
Reason cited by the security operatives is that the man of God recently preached against attempts by the authorities to Islamize Nigeria.
In a Church sermon in his Church at Auchi, Edo State, Apostle Suleiman decried the killings of Christians in Southern Kaduna by Fulani herdsmen and in reaction asked Christians to arm themselves against attacks by the nomadic herders.
This warning, according to our source, was what angered the authorities in Abuja who ordered his arrest which was to be hatched in Ado-Ekiti tonight.
Narrating his ordeal, Apostle Johnson Suleiman who is in Ado-Ekiti for a 2-day crusade said ''I came to Ado Ekiti for a crusade. But I had a premonition that I was being trailed after I preached that Christians should retaliate any attack or killings by the Fulani herdsmen. These Fulani headmen had turned many Christians to orphans and widowers but the time has come to protect ourselves.
“I received several calls from hidden numbers trying to locate where I am and I had warned my security not to allow any Fulani man to come nearer me. So when the men of DSS came in the middle of the night I knew their mission and I had to call the Governor because if they arrest me, they will put this country in fire”.
Mouth agape, Governor Fayose questioned the rationale behind arresting a man of God by the men of DSS.
He said, ''if they have any issue with him instead of arresting him in the dead of the night after a powerful and spirit-filled crusade in my State.''
Speaking further, he said, “I personally attended his crusade and I think it is wrong for a man of God who is armless that could be invited if they have any issue against him. Are Christians and Muslims under different dispensation of the rule of law? . That’s why I went there to rescue him. Let them kill two of us together. But when they saw my vehicles and the crowd, they fled.
“But we have information that instructions came from DSS in Abuja that the Pastor should be arrested. We are not in a fascist state, Federal Government must learn to respect the rights of Nigerians and freedom of expression”.
A visibly angry Governor Fayose, according to our reporter said it was unbecoming of the Federal Government to be harassing the clergymen in the country noting that the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye was harassed and forced to resign shortly after he visited him in Ado Ekiti.
His words: “This is unacceptable, We are in a democracy and Nigerians should warn the Presidency against putting this country on fire because religion is an emotional thing”.

Enough of this deceit, MMM participants threaten to use 'juju' against founder

The Ponzi scheme MMM just returned after weeks of a temporary closure that saw some of its members almost taking their own lives
- The euphoria and excitement that followed its return to Nigeria has now faded away with participants threatening various actions

Pushed beyond limit, participants of the Ponzi scheme MMM have threatened to take the founder and those managing it in Nigeria to ‘juju’ shrines.

They said they could no longer bear the daily rules churned out by the scheme’s management and are now forced to think that such new laws are only to buy time.

There have been fears since the scheme returned after it shut down temporarily. The fears are heightened with the refusal of the scheme to make payment to participants.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some of the participants cursed and the scheme while others threatened to use other means against its founder and managers.

One of such participants said on the MMM website: “Hello Mavrodi. You can’t eat my money and go like that.See, let me tell you Mavrodi: my father is a native doctor. I give you two weeks to pay my money or my father will kill you in that Russia.I’m ready to kill anybody including my guider and referral. Make una no play with me ooo…If you like joke with me.”

The report quoted one Hayat Mohammed as saying: “I really need help. I provided help of 50,000, now I made a request to get help. The request was processed, but I’ve not being matched with another participant who will pay me.

They won’t even pick my calls. So my money is lost, isn’t it? Last time I checked, this was supposed to be a platform where we would be able to tender our problems for solutions. I guess they don’t care anymore since participants have grown in population.”

Owhotemu Maryjane said: “What is really going on with MMM? If it’s gone you should let us the participants know. And why is that when someone wants to GH it will show or create error? You guys had a month to sort this out during the so-called break! So what then is this so called withdrawal limit that you are now talking about?”

Christopher Chinedu said: “If I knew that this would happen, I shouldn’t have become a participant. Let’s admit we have lost our money. That is business I guess, lose or gain.

“Somebody has been matched with different people, four, to be precise and they have not paid him now, many days and months after. Hmmm so who is going to pay who? I think I have cried enough, it’s time for me to clean my eyes now and forget my N700,000. This is not my end.

One Tope Aladeniyi, who spoke from Ado-Ekiti, said he was to be paid a day before the scheme was shut down in December.
At the moment, I have not been matched, and last year we were told that once the scheme resumed on January 14, they would be the ones to release those who were ready to be matched, even if you were due for payment,” Aladeniyi said.

Sola Abidakun said: “I was only paid N4000 and N10,000, leaving two failed transactions waiting to be rematched.

One participant, Davies Onyema, said:
Please, I don’t want to say anything, I almost killed myself last time. I was very happy when I heard the news of their coming back. I have entered forty days of praying and fasting over my condition with MMM. How can they return and tell me that they are not going to provide help to me, so when are they going to provide help?”

UNILAG: 2 female graduates with 5.0 CGPA reveal secret of success

Taiwo Bankole and Oyindamola Omotuyi

When Ayodele Daniel Dada, in 2016 broke UNILAG academic records as the best graduating student ever with the Cumulative Grade Point Average CGPA 5.0, little did he know that he was indirectly setting an academic standard for those coming behind, as Taiwo Bankole and Oyindamola Omotuyi have matched his academic feat of CGPA 5.0 in 2017.
Apparently, with the feat of Miss Taiwo Bankole, 22 and Miss Oyindamola Omotuyi 21, the saying that what a man can do, a woman can do better is confirmed. What 5.0 CGPA portends is that these graduates made the A grade in all their courses throughout their stay in the university.
While Omotuyi studied System Engineering at the University of Lagos, Bankole on her part, studied Cell Biology and Genetics in the same institution. Incidentally, the duo are both fellowship members at the Redeemed Christian Church of God on campus. Bankole who is second in the family of six, hailed from Ipaja, Lagos State, just as Omotuyi, from Ondo, in Ondo State is the first daughter among three girls.
Speaking to Vanguard yesterday, Omotuyi who said she drew inspiration for reading from her father said: ‘’My father, an engineer reads all night and I tried to emulate him.”
Relating how she came about her first class, Omotuyi disclosed that she was not born a genius, but worked hard for it.
Not born a genius
According to her: ‘’While in  primary one, I took 11th position in my class and in UNILAG, I had two bad results. A day before the exam of a particular course, I saw  my test result where I scored 9/30. Before the test, I had read very well, yet, I got 9/30. When I saw it, I was downcast. I asked God what was going on and I cried. That was in 200 level. However, I didn’t let it stop me because I don’t believe in falling and not rising again. After crying, I met people to brush me up on the course to know what the lecturer really wants and the exam turned out beautifully later.
“In another course, I had 5/40 in the test and the highest in the class was 10/40, however, at the end,  I scored 70 per cent.”
She encouraged students to do the needful, adding that getting admission was not particularly hard, if every student did his or her own part. She also pointed out that  after school lessons helped her when she was in the secondary school. ‘’That was how  I had 315 in JAMB and 76 in post-UME, ‘’ she said.
Speaking on the secret of her academic performance, Omotuyi pointed out  hardwork among others as the key.
She said: ‘’I read a lot with my classmates, I enjoy learning from everybody irrespective of the level. I am more interested in the knowledge I will get and not CGPA. This is because of the family I come from; my daddy was a scholar, which is why I got the scholarship to study in Russia. He is a very strict person in terms of reading. Even at old age, he still reads till day break. I learnt the discipline from him and applied it in school.”
Asked if she has any reading technique, the scholar said she did not have specific hours spent on reading, neither did she has any reading technique. ‘’At every point, I depended on the wisdom from the Lord to do things better. I realised that when I obeyed, it worked.
“Thus, the exceptional thing is that I followed the directions that God gave me. I really did not just go to the library to read, I went to my seniors and asked what the lecturer of a course really wants students to focus on. I wasn’t so concerned about writing what I feel, but what the lecturer wants to see. I remember once in the exam hall, the Lord told me to write what the lecturer wants to see not just want you want to write.
‘’ I see lecturers as humans, and they are the ones marking the script, they have feelings and they know what they want to see because of what they have deposited in you, so they don’t want to see just anything; they know what they are looking for. That is the mindset with which I face my courses and exams. Write what lecturers want to see, not what you feel you know.’’
On her social life, Omotuyi said that her social life was spent with her friends and  church members. She, however disclosed that she sometimes attended birthday meetings and went to watch movies.
‘’I never had a boyfriend. I understand what school relationships really are and I don’t do things because everyone does it, I have where I am going to. It is not that I wasn’t approached by boys, but there is a right time for everything,’’ she said.
On her future, she said: ‘’I am waiting for my NYSC’, but if the lord will have me do a master’s degree, sure. My course of study is really broad just that on BSc, it looks small. I am looking at furthering in computer vision, artificial intelligence and programming because I have interest in programming, mathematics and hardware.
Her words for students: ‘’For those still in the system; it is very beautiful to have a good result, everybody can do it, irrespective of what has happened before. Some persons did not have a good secondary school or probably a bad result; they should never let that stop them.
‘’I really didn’t have a good primary school result. When I got to secondary school, I was discouraged because I met a lot of people that came from very big schools and they were very good. I felt I couldn’t do anything to beat them, that I was a dull student in the class; that was in Jss1. I didn’t like relating, just stayed on my own. A teacher noticed me and brought me to the front of the class, then I started responding, started picking up.
Meanwhile,, Taiwo Bankole  on her part noted that all was not rosy before she gained admission into UNILAG, She disclosed that though she had her WAEC and NECO at one sitting,  she took UTME and failed. ‘’I ended up entering school with direct entry by doing diploma in UNILAG.’’
According to her, graduating with first class was not her target. Relating her experience, she said: ‘’When I did diploma, my CGPA started from zero in my 200 level. In my degree, when my CGPA rose to 5.0, I decided to maintain it by reading for six hours everyday. I keep my studies interesting and simple. I use the library, I read in my room, I listen attentively in class, and I trust God for success.’’
Reading for six hours everyday
Bankole disclosed that through her focus and constant reading, from 200 level her CGPA started rising and she determined to have an A in each course of the total course units of 102.
On her  future plans, Bankole said: ‘’After my NYSC,  I will do my Masters in genetics because I love the course.
For social life, she said: ‘’I go out with my friends, watch movies and go to church. I don’t have a boyfriend. Asked the reasons, she simply said: ‘’This is because I came to face my books and not relationships. When the time is right, God will provide the right person for me.’’
She urged students to be hardworking and never to loose focus.
“Be hardworking, determined and diligent in all your endeavours. Trust in God in everything you do to overcome challenges. I have no regrets.

Buhari condemns UNIMAID bombing

President Muhammadu Buhari has strongly condemned the terrorist attack Monday morning at a mosque in the University of Maiduguri(UNIMAID).

A professor of veterinary medicine and four others were killed by the suicide bomber. Fifteen other people were injured.

The President expressed sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the University Community, families of the victims and the government and people of Borno State.

President Buhari Said the appalling attack on a revered place of worship and Ivory Tower shows that the perpetrators have no true understanding of Islam.

He said their despicable acts of terrorism are cowardly, criminal, unjustifiable and punishable before God Almighty and the laws of the land.

The President reassured communities in Borno and others in the North eastern part of the country that his administration will continue to ensure that terrorism never triumphs over peace-loving Nigerians.

He reaffirmed the need for Nigerians to remain more vigilant even as the security agencies continue to use all means at their disposal to combat the remnants of insurgents and their sponsors.

President Buhari wished those injured in the attack a speedy and full recovery, and comforted families of the dead.

Frustrations persist as promoters urge MMM investors to be patient 24 hours after resumption

A day after the popular money-doubling scheme, Mavrodi Mundial Moneybox, MMM, resumed operations in Nigeria, participants have resigned to fate as they await their trapped investments.

Most, who had expected an immediate return of normal transactions were found to have developed mixed feelings over the new method with which their funds would be repaid. Sunday  Vanguard learnt that some people, who had applied for their funds were not too comfortable with the scheme’s decision to prioritise payment of micro-investors. Micro-investors, according to MMM managers, are those with least minimal investment. The new payment limit was also found to be a thing of concern to those who were in a hurry to recoup their investments. Get Help is the phrase for request for payment.   But the Help appeared not to be readily available yesterday. Applications for Get Help were met by this usual aknowledgement message from MMM: “Your application has been received.  “Wait patiently to be matched   with another participant.” For most of those who had tried to Get Help, this response all  the more heightened their feeling of frustration. Since the meger process was often done  within two weeks, those who had so far requested for their funds were found not to be too disturbed yet, the optimism which greeted their initial investment drive appeared to have been dampened but not totally lost. Amid all these, the faith of participants was found by  Sunday  Vanguard to be unshakable – a situation attributed as a fallout of the grinding nature the hardship in Nigeria had assumed. There were many participants who did not want their names in print. A participant, who provided help (invested) with the sun of N200,000, Mr. Olisa Akubundu, told  Sunday  Vanguard that there was nothing to worry about. However, he added that all that mattered to him were his funds. “We suspected that there would be changes relating to the process of getting our money.   “Knowing how MMM works, it would be childish to expect immidiate payment with the old model.   “I will continue with the scheme because I benefited much last year but what matters to me now is my money. “I can’t afford to lose such amount in this critical period when a 12 kilogram cylinder of cooking gas sells for N6,000.  “The media that is so much concerned about MMM, why is it not telling the federal government the enormity of the hardship in Nigeria? “This country is becoming worse under the present leadership. We can’t wait for 2019, it is even MMM that can sustain us till 2019 when we will pay this government back.”

Tell your department that you have no class - UNIBEN LECTURER

200 level mass communication students taking attendance under the hot sun.

It was a terrible day for the student of mass communication in the university of Benin as one of their lecturers angrily left the 200 level class while lecturing because she was told by some post graduates that they would like to have lectures in the same class.

She bitterly complained to the professor who wanted to lecture the same post graduates that she had been embarrassed thrice for using the class that belonged to the post graduates due to the fact that mass communication had no lecture theatre.

She further stated that she was forced last year to lecture a class of about 230 students under a mango tree on the campus.

According to a mass communication student who preferred anonymity, 'it is so bad that mass communication even though under the department of theatre art does not have a class to claim.

Some other mass communication students who were not happy with the fact that their lecture was interrupted by the post graduates complained to some lecturers in the field of mass communication but the lecturers promised to take some actions.

Morgan Schneiderlin joins Everton from Manchester United for initial £20m

Morgan Schneiderlin has described a reunion with Ronald Koeman and Everton’s ambition as the decisive factors in his move from Manchester United to Goodison Park.
The France international ended his difficult Old Trafford career on Thursday when he signed a four-and-a half-year contract with Everton. United, who paid
£25m for the midfielder in July 2015 , will recoup an initial £20m and £24m with add-ons.
Schneiderlin is Everton’s second signing this month following the arrival of the 19-year-old Ademola Lookman in an £11m deal from Charlton Athletic and his addition enabled Tom Cleverley to join Watford on loan. The former United and England midfielder, who had a productive loan spell at Vicarage Road in 2009‑10, may sign for Watford permanently in the summer for a fee of around £8m, giving Everton a healthy profit on a player signed on a free transfer in 2015.
Koeman said he was “very pleased” to have signed the 27-year-old, having criticised Everton’s transfer business following the FA Cup defeat against Leicester City on Saturday and seen an initial £19m bid rejected by United. West Bromwich Albion also had an £18m offer for Schneiderlin dismissed by United and the midfielder admitted that Koeman, with whom he worked for a season at Southampton, influenced his decision to move to Merseyside.
Schneiderlin said: “There is a manager in place here that I know, I know he can get the best out of me, I know his style and how he likes to play football. He was very good for me and, obviously, he was a massive player in his playing days and you can only learn from the best. At Southampton he gave me some great advice to keep improving every day and it was a pleasure to work with him.
“We spoke since the time I knew Everton would be interested. I know his ambition and why he came here. He believes in this project and I do too. We are trying to achieve something here and this is what I am here for. When I spoke with the manager and the people in place at Everton I understood immediately that they have a very good project for the future of the football club. I just want to play football. I want to put my print on this club and do everything to get Everton where it belongs.”
Schneiderlin could make his Everton debut against Manchester City on Sunday although he has made only three brief substitute appearances in the Premier League this term. Signed on the same day as Bastian Schweinsteiger by United, the midfielder started 25 league games in his debut season under Louis van Gaal but fell out of favour under José Mourinho.
Koeman said: “I’m very pleased because I know the player, I know the qualities of the player, I know him as a person and he’s really desperate to come to Everton – and that’s what we need. He’s a strong character. He can play in different positions in the midfield. He’s also a fast player, he’s a clever player and he’s a personality. Normally, he’s part of the French national team and at 27 years old he’s part of the future at Everton.
“Morgan is really hungry to show his qualities and to play because that is the best thing for a football player. You are born as a football player to play games, not to sit on the bench or not be part of the team. But this is a new step, it’s a new future and he will show his qualities. I am convinced of that.”

BIAFRA: BINTA NYAKO RAN AWAY FROM COURTROOM AS KANU THUNDERS "THERE WILL BE NO SECRET TRIAL"

The case between Nnamdi Kanu and the Federal government of Nigeria kicked off at exactly 10:23am Biafra time after the arrival of Binta Nyako. Nnamdi Kanu and the other accused Benjamin Madubugwu, David Nwawuisi and Chidiebere Onwudiwe were led to the shielding apparatus set before the court, where the masked witnesses were expected to be paraded as well.
It could be recalled that Justice Binta on the 13th of Dec 2016, ruled that masked witnesses would be allowed to testify against Kanu. She quoted circumstances under section 36(6) of the 1999 constitution, whereby witnesses are allowed to conceal their identity.
She held that the court will be able to see their witnesses, but it will be restricted to the representatives of both parties. She added that the court is going to be arranged in such a way that only the defendants and the defense counsels will be able to see the witnesses.

But Nnamdi Kanu swiftly responded to her presposterous ruling by thundering without fear saying "do i look like a fool to you? I won't take this. Buhari accused  me in the public and the trial must be open to all, I won't accept this."
Earlier before the arrival of Binta Nyako and the accused today the 10th of January 2017, the DSS were seen barring people from entering the courtroom including the press. Efforts made by Nnamdi  kanu's brother to persuade them to allow people access into the premises proved abortive.
On further enquiries as to the rationale behind the unmerited obstruction, the DSS agents replied that dictator Muhammadu Buhari has ordered that no press should be allowed access into the courtroom. One of the DSS officials further went on to say that only one family member relating to the accused (Nnamdi Kanu) is allowed entry and reiterated again that there will be no media coverage of proceedings.
Justice Binta Nyako arrived shortly afterwards and settled down to preside over the day's proceedings of allowing masked witnesses to testify against Nnamdi Kanu. But Kanu without hesitation was heard thundering from behind the shielding apparatus that there will be no court sitting without the presence of Biafrans and his family members outside. When asked why he said so, he replied "Buhari cannot accuse me in the open and try me in secret."
At this point, Binta Nyako who could no longer hide her annoyance adjourned the case to Thursday 12th January 2017, and cowardly jet out of the courtroom in frustration.

MMM introduces bitcoin in comback plan

MMM Nigeria, popular Ponzi scheme, has introduced bitcoin, the world’s best performing currency, as part of its mode of payment in its comeback plans.
The Ponzi scheme, which froze accounts of participants on December 13, 2016, is preparing to return, and it is throwing up a number of plans to get its community active again.
Bitcoin, the increasingly popular cryptocurrency or digital currency, was the best performing currency in 2016, appreciating by more than 100 percent in 2016, from about $400 per bitcoin to over $1,000 per bitcoin.
Prior to the freeze of MMM, participants were allowed to provide help in bitcoin, but they were paid back in naira.
However, the new plan allows participants to receive payment in bitcoin, and watch their monies grow in bitcoin.
In a statement to participants, MMM said “due to the recent sharp price fluctuations of Bitcoin, MAVRO-BTC is being introduced in the system.
“So far, we have only had Mavro-Naira in the system. Even though you provided help via Bitcoin, your Bitcoins, anyway, were recalculated into the Naira at the exchange rate at the moment of providing help, and you were credited with Mavro-Naira in your PO.
“It was the naira amount that grew. In other words, you received 30 percent a month specifically in naira (not in Bitcoins, although you originally provided help using Bitcoins).
“Now, you have a chance to have 30 percent growth of the Bitcoin amount, not the naira amount. So, acquire MAVRO-BTC which will be credited in your PO and will grow at a 30 percent monthly growth rate.
“In a month not only 30 percent will be added to your initial amount, but, it can increase itself due to Bitcoin price growth.
“And, what if Bitcoin price is going to fall? In case Bitcoin price might go down, you will be able to return to naira at any time — instantly convert your MAVRO-BTC into Mavro-Naira (and vice versa, if Bitcoin price might increase again).
“This option is available in PO. You can convert both confirmed and unconfirmed Mavro.
“We hope that with implementing MAVRO-BTC, your participation in MMM will become more comfortable!”

NUPENG begins 3-day warning strike, Wednesday

LAGOS — NIGERIA Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, is set to begin a three-day nationwide warning strike on Wednesday, over disputes with International Oil Companies, IOCs, especially indiscriminate sack of workers without benefits and refusal to allow their workers to join union.

The union has been having running battles with some of the IOCs, including Exxon/Mobil and Chevron Nigeria Limited, over unfair labour practices, especially perceived unprocedural sack of workers without benefits, breach of Nigerian extant labour laws in their divestment exercises.

Chevron was alleged to have sacked over 300 NUPENG members without benefits late last year and efforts by the union for them to be recalled proved abortive.

It was also gathered that the directive by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, that  all parties return to status quo was not heeded to by the Chevron after the union called off its action against the  company in obedience to the ministry’s directive.

Similarly, Mobil in December 14, 2016, sacked over 100 workers without following laid down procedure, according to the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN.

The union accused the management of Mobil of flagrant violation of Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development, NOGICD, Act of 2010, by deploying expatriates to take over jobs for which there is local capacity.

Already members of the National Executive Council, NEC, of NUPENG, with gave the strike directive at their earlier meeting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, when they issued a 21-day ultimatum to government to address pending issues with IOCs, will be holding an emergency NEC  in Abuja tomorrow, ahead of commencement of the strike.

Breaking: Former Governor of Niger state, Abdulkadir Kure dies at 60

Former Governor of Niger, Abdulkadir Kure, 60, dies on Sunday in Germany, Tanko Beji, Chairman, PDP, Niger, confirms.

More details shortly…

God used a witch to save my life — Adeboye

GENERAL Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye recently revealed how God used a witch to stop him from eating kola nut which would have lead to his death if he did not stop the act.

Narrating his experience while delivering a sermon tiled: “God Loves Me” during the annual thanksgiving service and prophetic declaration at the church national headquarters, Throne of Grace parish in Ebute-Meta, Lagos, Pastor Adeboye attributed his continued survival to God’s faithfulness, and love, saying those whom God loves are more than conquerors.

In his words: “I was telling my children that whenever we wanted to study at night while we were young, we used kola nut as our own coffee as we did not have money to buy coffee. We ate the kola nut to stay awake.

“One day, the number one self confessed witch in our compound, called me and said: “Dejare, why won’t you stop eating kola nut? The witch warned me to desist from what can lead to my death. I think God spoke through the witch and I can say God loves me,” Adeboye stated.

Continuing, the cleric said: “You are alive today not because you are clever, wise or know how to do it but simply because God loves you. There are lots of people who are in the prison who are free. I was at the Kirikiri Prison where I heard testimonies that brought tears to my eyes. Some of them said they were in prison but they are free men because they have Jesus; they were incarcerated but they are free. And there are people who are outside the prison who are prisoners.

“It is because God loves you that you are able to conquer all that the devil threw at you last year. Left for the enemy you, will not be here today but because God loves you, you are more than conqueror,” Daddy G.O. said.

Adeboye then admonished Christians that God expects those He loves to respond by honouring Him with their tithes and first fruits and love their neighours, noting that the greatest gift Christians can give their neighbours is introducing them to Christ.

Also speaking, the Assistant General Overseer to G.O. on Administration and Personnel, Pastor Johnson Odesola, said it was high time government did something to ameliorate the incessant orgy of violence in southern Kaduna often leading to killing of innocent citizens and destruction of properties before it escalates to the type of Boko Haram problem the nation is nursing today.

He said: “This was how the problem of Boko Haram started and the government felt it was a small thing until the sect became a thorn in the flesh of Nigerians.’’

Tottenham breaks Chelsea winning streak

After thirteen straight winning streak, Chelsea lost 2 goals to nil to Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Wednesday.

The first goal came when the Nigerian-born English footballer, Dele Alli on the 45th minute got on the end of a superb cross from Eriksen, and placed a header back across into the far corner!

Alli stamps his name on the London derby in a big way when Eriksen crossed again, placing it on the head of Alli at the far post, and he really couldn't miss that.

However, Chelsea players did their best possible to balance the game by scoring but it all became futile.

Okorocha said during APC stakeholders meeting held at Imo State International Convention, Owerri that each ward should collect 50 bags of rice valued N1 million and N100,000 cash
He said the gesture was Christmas and New Year gifts for APC members in appreciation of their hard work and keeping faith with the party. “We provided 18, 500 bags of rice and each ward out of 370 wards will go home with 50 bags worth N1 million and N100, 000 cash per ward. “The rice and money should be shared among the members of APC alone, no traditional rulers or Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members should partake in the sharing’’, he said.

Okorocha, who showered praises on APC members for keeping faith with the party in spite months of suspension of financial funding of the party due to economic recession, assured the party executives that more cash would be pumped into the party’s activities.
“I recently released N20 million to each of the 27 local government areas which was shared through the (state development council) for the grading of rural roads in each ward and N400, 000 for organising cultural carnival in Owerri in Dec. 2016.

“We are planning to renovate school buildings, award contracts for the sewing of school uniforms and henceforth these projects must pass through party structures to empower our supporters’’, Okorocha said.

The governor announced that APC will soon commence membership registration across the state with a target to capture at least 1.5 million members in Imo.

Okorocha said the registration must be conducted before 370 ward executive members could come and carry 50 bags of their rice now heaped within the premises of Imo International Convention, Owerri.

The governor told members of the party willing to contest for elective positions in 2019 to start holding political meetings so as to enable them soften the grounds before open campaigns would be permitted by INEC.

“Any of you willing to contest election in 2019 should commence holding stakeholder meetings whether you are still a serving officer or not, we are members of one party and everybody is free to contest elections.

“I am using this platform to make open that I have not endorsed anybody as governor in 2019, nobody has informed me he wants to be governor except Sen. Ifeanyi Ararume who told me two days ago.

“I told him that he should not nurse such ambition, but rather think of joining me to Abuja where I feel we can do more jobs as senior hands for Imo.’’

Many APC members across the state including the Imo State Assembly Speaker, Mr Acho Ihim, Rep. Chike Okafor (Obowo/Ehime Mbano/Ihitte Uboma federal constituency) among others, attended the meeting.

Some of them commended Okorocha for his achievements especially in road construction, free education, and urban renewal, and called for more empowerment of APC supporters.

MMM releases 2017 rules ahead Jan. 14

As it may probably unfreeze accounts of its users on January 14, Mavrodi Mondial Movement (MMM) ponzi scheme has released 2017 guidelines for the Nigerian participants.
According to Nigerian Bulletin, MMM programmers are working earnestly with a new model which will be announced and implemented at a later date.
This, the MMM Admin. claims will help keep the system balanced:
“To keep the GH(Get Help) and PH(Provide Help) balanced. No matter whether people join us or not.. and it will be sustainable.
“When it will be implemented, we will be notified. We can PH and we should keep our downlines updated.”
Recall that the ponzi scheme froze the accounts of its mavros, as the particicipants are popularly called, on December 12, 2016, in order  “to help prevent any problems during the new year season. And also to tackle the media frenzy that has been going on in the country”, MMM said in a circular sent out to all users of the scheme. The latest statement on the new guidelines further reads:
About the growth of bonuses
We have to see towards it… half of guiders’ supporters said it should keep growing. Guiders misbehaving will be dealt with. And the only way to get them is by getting evidence.
Unfreezing of Mavro will be probably January 14 or might be sooner.
About proof of payment
We will use a new strategy for fake proof of payments:
We will start checking orders when it turns yellow, that is…
Change of guiders button will be done this week or any time soon. Phone number verification would be implemented soon… via sms notification.
Guiders school: Soon we will start automized guiders school and make it well organised.
False news around:
We should demonstrate to others that our community is working and not give heed or ear to what people say about the system… It solely depends on us the leaders.
We can also talk to people to PH and let them know that their mavro will keep growing.Recall that the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN), the Securities and Exchange Commission(SEC) and Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) had warned NIgerians against using the scheme.

- The prophet says no amount of peace talk can prevent Nigeria’s disintegration

Prophet Wale Olagunju, the presiding Bishop of Divine Seed of God Chapel Ministries in Ibadan, Oyo state, has released his prophecies for 2017.
Prophet Olagunju, who accurately predicted President Muhammadu Buhari victory in the 2015 election, has revealed that the Nigerian president will be dethroned in 2019 election by former vice president Atiku Abubakar, The Sun reports.

The man of God, in a 52-point prophecy for the Year 2017 also foretold the possibility of the country splitting into five as he claimed to have foreseen, “the map of Nigeria torn into five,” saying, “no amount of peace talk can prevent Nigeria’s disintegration. It is a matter of time.”
He predicted that the Igbo’s desire for Biafra nation has received divine approval.
Below are his prophecies for Nigeria in the year:
1. As revealed by the Almighty God who will never share his glory with mortal man, the present generation of Nigerian leaders in the likes of Obasanjo, Babangida, Gowon, Danjuma, Abdusallam and Buhari will pass away before the emergence of the Messiah that will lead Nigeria to the promise land. The problem in our Nation will be so much that what we are witnessing now will be a child play to what we will see and hear and there will be chaos and distrust all over the nation as a result of which the messiah will emerge.
This messiah, an unknown person, will proffer solutions (to the problems); conduct referendum and will break Nigeria peacefully. As revealed to me further by the creator of the universe, the reign of this messiah will be brief. God of Abraham has concluded in heaven to raise for Himself the young man who will give divine solution and execute God’s programme for Nigeria.
2. There is going to be serious fight between Obasanjo and Buhari as revealed by God Almighty.
3. Notable chieftains of the APC and the PDP who are talking of 2019 without due reference to God will not live to witness that year.
4. There is going to be rowdy session in the National Assembly in the coming year.
5. The present war against Bola Tinubu will continue but many of those fighting him will come back to eat their words.
6. God again revealed to me that Nigeria is seriously sick and that the only drug that can cure her is National Repentance Prayer. Failure to do this, God says Nigeria will continue to wallow in problems. God warned Nigerians not to look up to their leaders for solutions but to God Almighty as they have none to their problems.
7. God of heaven says He is angry with President Buhari because of his failure to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians but instead adding to it. God says Buhari’s government is like a weed on the surface of the Atlantic Ocean.
8. God says those who think the PDP is dead are making a mistake as He [God] does not work in the counsel of men but in the reasoning of His words. God says the party will bounce back and its members in the APC will return to their original house.
9. The present rumpus in the APC will continue.
10. The Nigerian nation will continue to experience hardship unless serious steps are taken to seek the face of God.
11. Nigerians should pray for Buhari against high blood pressure, liver and kidney problem as the President is sick.
12. God says that He deliberately raised Donald Trump of America to execute His judgment on America for their sin of homosexuality being propagated by Obama/Hillary Clinton. God says Trump will at a stage behave like an anti-Christ.
13. God says the Yoruba nation will unite and rise again.
14. There is going to be sharp misunderstanding between Buhari and Osinbajo as a result of political differences.
15. God says any party that fields Buhari for the 2019 presidential election will be fielding liability as his candidacy will make the party lose the election. God says this will be so because Buhari has disappointed God by his failure to carry out His instruction as published in my 2016 predictions by national dailies to “wage war against corruption, execute God’s fierce judgment on those who sinned against God by looting as well as for his failure to demonstrate love to the poor by alleviating their suffering. God says for these reasons, He has torn his government and given it to another man after His heart to rule Nigeria. God says Buhari will continue to have problem till his last day in Aso Rock and people will continue to hate him because of his failure to rule with the fear of God.
16. To show the extent to which Buhari’s disappointment is grieving God, God says he has rejected Buhari just like He did to Jonathan and even his people the Hausas will reject him come 2019. In the presence of Almighty God as revealed to me, Buhari have become a complete disappointing king/failure just like king Saul in the bible.
17. God says the name Atiku Abubakar will continue to ring like a bell. He will be so popular among Nigerian politicians to the extent that many will root for him.
18. God says should Atiku Abubakar contest the 2019 election, he will defeat Buhari hands down.
19. The 2018 Governorship election in Ekiti state will cause a sharp division in the APC camp because of the inordinate ambition of some of their self-centred leaders. The party in the state will break into three factions as revealed to me by God.
20. God says the APC is being faced by three major problems of backbiting, unnecessary petition against former leaders and total hijack of the party structure from pioneer members.
21. Tambuwal and David Mark will be drafted to contest the 2019 Presidential election but God says the cabal of our nation will prefer Governor Tambuwal of Sokoto state.
22. Nigerians should pray against fire accident in the coming year.
23. God says that except that the Nigeria nation repent of the sin of its leaders who killed innocent souls, sin of FESTAC ’77 and sin of corruption which placed the country under the curse of the Almighty, the country’s problem will continue.
24. Prophet T. B. Joshua should pray seriously to avert sickness.
25. General T. Y. Danjuma should also pray against sickness.
26. God says I. B. B. will continue to remain in sickness.
27. God says for Buhari to have taken the problem of Nigeria to Kaaba in Mecca as if there is no God in Nigeria and rather than motivate the entire nation to fast and seek the face of God, He [God] will continue to raise adversaries against his government and Nigerians will continue to hate him.
28. God again warned that should the APC field Buhari in 2019, the broom will be broken and thrown into fire just like I predicted to PDP in 2014.
29. God Almighty says President Buhari is too rigid and stubborn. God says the President has set aside His mandate for him to cleanse the nation of corruption. God says He is only giving the President the grace to motivate Nigerians for special repentance prayer.
30. Serving ministers in Buhari’s government should watch their steps as the President is set to drop some of them and reshuffle his government.
31. God says Governor Aregbesola of Osun state will continue to swim in problems until he gets out of office as a result of the recognition he gave to the Osun Osogbo idol.
32. God says he will inflict those who loot Nigeria treasury with sickness. They will henceforth be inflicted with dreaded sicknesses that will lead to untimely death unless they repent.
33. God says Goodluck Jonathan will never win any election again in Nigeria as a result of his sin against the Almighty.
34. God says 2019 election will be tougher than the 2015.
35. The executive and the National Assembly will go on a serious collision course in the coming year. Buhari should be careful lest he is accused of non-implementation of budget.
36. Nigerians should pray for Awujale of Ijebu land.
37. Those who say the Biafra nation will not materialise are dreaming for the Igbos have taken their case to the creator of the universe and He has granted their heart desire.
38. PDP will bounce back to become a formidable party in Oyo state again.
39. Buhari should watch his steps to avoid impeachment.
40. As revealed by God, should Buhari fail to take it easy with the people of the South-South and South-East and go ahead to use military power, Nigeria may go to civil war.
41. As revealed by God, a new generation of military officers will in future overthrow the government of Nigeria to clear the rot perpetrated by reckless politicians.
42. Before 2019, there will be amalgamation of political heavyweight and political party that will give the APC sleepless nights.
43. The on-going war against corruption will soon lose value as the President will bend the rules and soft pedal because of inordinate and self-interest.
44. A prominent artiste will fall sick in the coming year.
45. Nigerians should pray for Baba Sala.
46. Come 2019 general election, PDP will fight the APC to a standstill.
47. APC should forget about winning 2019 election for another government will emerge that will probe their government.
48. Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode should be prayerful to avoid being at loggerhead with the elite. He should also pray to avert sickness.
49. Another strong party will emerge before the 2019 election.
50. God Almighty who revealed to me in my 2015/2016 prediction that Buhari is not the Messiah says the promised Messiah will use his mandate to settle all problems confronting Nigeria. The said Messiah will conduct a referendum so as to peacefully break Nigeria without civil war.
51. God says three out of the four pillars that are holding the APC have broken down as a result of their greed, inordinate ambition, stubbornness, favouritism, tribal and religious sentiment and therefore their days in government are numbered.
52. God revealed to me and I saw the map of Nigeria torn into five, by this no amount of peace talk can prevent Nigeria’s disintegration. It is a matter of time.
